Helping in our Community

We want to help make Memphis and the surrounding area a better place to live. By volunteering our time and efforts, we believe we can make a small step toward that goal.

Frayser Tree Removal

Storm Damage Clean Up

We were grateful to be able to help the Chris Edwards family in getting large trees removed from the top of their home and out of their backyard that were a result of the terrible storm that came through Memphis on May 27, 2017. Woodland responded to calls from the Shelby County Government Mayors Action Center and the Shelby county mayors office to assist this family in need.

Memphis Slim Home Renovation

The long-awaited renovation of the South Memphis house that was home to blues legend Memphis Slim was marked on October 12, 2012 with a Woodland Tree crane that lifted a tree that had fallen on the side of the battered two-story house.

2012 Woodland Tree Arbor Day Celebration

To help celebrate National Arbor Day (April 27), we held a celebration of our own on Saturday, April 28, 2012. We gave away five $1,000 tree service packages to some very happy people. Their were plenty of giveaways: T-shirts (made of recycled material of course!), safety glasses, and Bracken's Brown Southern Magnolias. Drake and Zeke and the crew from "Talk Memphis" of Ken, Bev and Andrew were there to meet and greet those that came to celebrate with us. We unveiled our new website. The Bee Guy came and gave fascinating demonstrations. Those that were there got a sneak peak at The Woodland Gallery (part of Woodland Tree Products), a unique collection of original furniture creations made from reclaimed wood.

We look forward to doing it again next year. Check out the pictures below to see what a great day is was to celebrate trees.

Bee Day at Cordova Middle School - April 2012

David Glover (the Bee Guy) and Tim Story of Woodland Tree spoke to a 7th grade class at Cordova Middle School.

With warm winter, honey bees have made big comeback. Honey bees live off flowers/trees and live in trees most of time.

Annual Drake & Zeke Golf Tournament - Benefiting The Memphis Police foundation

This tournament is held each October at Memphis National Golf Course. It benefited the Memphis Police Foundation. Woodland Tree has given the Foundation a $30,000 in the last two years that was raised through the golf tournament. The money raised is used by the Foundation for a number of projects that help keep our citizens and tourists safe.

National Arbor Day - April 2010

Britt Hubbard participated in the Tennessee Arbor Day at the Agricenter in March. They explained the proper way to plant trees, how to use mulch properly, the importance of “right tree, right site”, the importance of trees and how they benefit our communities, as well as other tree related information.

Elmwood Cemetary- November 2009

Woodland Tree joined with two other tree service firms in November 2009 at Elmwood Cemetery to prune, take out and support hazardous trees during a day of caring for the trees. Elmwood Cemetary is on the National Register of Historic Places. Veterans of every American war are buried there along with senators, governors and mayors.
